What LC means
LC or LE usually means the leak sensor has detected moisture in the base area. It can be caused by an actual leak, overflow, oversudsing, or water reaching a protected area during another fault.
Because water is involved, do not keep starting wash cycles to see whether the code disappears.
Visible checks
Check the lower door edge, under-sink hose connections, filter seating, and drain backup. Confirm that dish soap was not used by mistake.
If water is actively escaping, cancel the cycle and shut off the supply valve if it is reachable safely.
- Look for water around the toe-kick.
- Check the sink or disposal connection.
- Inspect for foam or wrong detergent.
- Confirm racks and dishes are not blocking spray.
- Stop if LC returns after drying visible water.
Service notes
If LC repeats without visible sink, door, or detergent issues, the dishwasher may need internal leak tracing. That usually requires moving the machine or opening protected areas.
Document when LC appears: during fill, wash, drain, or immediately after power-on.
Model numbers affected
Commonly searched model families include built-in dishwashers, front-control dishwashers, top-control dishwashers, and compact dishwashers.
This is not a confirmed model-number list. Match the exact code to the full model number on the appliance tag before ordering parts, opening panels, or booking service.
