Source Methodology
Appliance Codes uses manufacturer support pages, model manuals, and conservative safety practice to write plain-English summaries. The site does not copy manuals verbatim and does not claim brand authorization.
How a code page is added
- Confirm the display code appears in a manufacturer or product-support context.
- Map the code to a broad issue category such as drain, fill, leak, airflow, or door.
- Write an original quick answer and safety-first check order.
- Cite a relevant source and record the last updated date.
What is intentionally excluded
We exclude instructions that require live-voltage testing, gas-line work, sealed-system repair, control-board diagnosis, or heavy appliance movement. Those belong with trained service professionals.
